Dallas Mavericks: Several players post about traveling to Miami

The Dallas Mavericks team appears to be headed to Miami, according to several players instagram posts. It is unclear what the team is doing there at this point.

As a fan of teams learning to bond together before they play together, I was excited to see a string of Instagram stories from several Dallas Mavericks players apparently getting together in Miami for one reason or another. As it is still unclear why the guys are headed down to Florida, we can only speculate at this time.

As of now, we know of four Mavs players that have made a point to post about their travels. Luka Doncic, Kristaps Porzingis, Delon Wright and Isaiah Roby have all set aside time to make the trip, maybe to get some sun and dominate in a little beach volleyball. Either way, here are a few theories as to why the team is headed behind enemy lines.

1. A newly established rite of passage for all Mavs players to go through to see where the Mavs franchise’s greatest achievement took place in 2011.

2. The team is full of fans of the television show, Burn Notice, and is going to see where some of the scenes were shot.

3. Mark Cuban has set up a big prize in Miami hoping for the team to go through some sort of Rat Race reenactment.

4. Everyone is headed to Marlins Park to pay their respects to Christian Yelich after the Milwaukee Brewers star player broke his kneecap last night.

5. Slovenian super powers wear off over time unless they find another countryman to recharge, so Luka had to go find Goran Dragic. The rest of the team followed for moral support.

The Mavs could be in Miami for any of these reasons and there may even be a completely different explanation, although I find that hard to believe. No matter what it is, it’s fun to see the team traveling together and getting time to bond together before the season begins.

Hopefully more news will come out soon as to why the Mavs are where they are, but for now we can only speculate the reasoning.
