Dallas Mavericks big man Maxi Kleber finally got his offensive game going at the World Cup as Germany dominated Jordan on Sept. 5.
Dallas Mavericks fans saw Maxi Kleber struggle in Germany’s first two games at the 2019 FIBA World Cup. He had just six points, three rebounds, and one assist in the two contests combined. Germany lost both games.
Kleber and his team were looking to right the ship on Thursday against Jordan in their final first-round game. Here is how they performed.
Germany dominates
The German National Team got off to a fast start on Sept. 5. They had 28 points on 73 percent shooting from the field in the first quarter. Germany rode that hot start to a 96-62 win over Jordan.
Maxi Kleber did not take a shot in Germany’s upset loss to the Dominican Republic. They righted that wrong on Thursday. Kleber took five of the team’s first 11 shots. He had 11 points including two 3-pointers made in the first quarter. Kleber also produced this dunk.
The Mavericks big man finished with a team-high 18 points on seven of 11 shooting from the field. He also had three rebounds, one assist, three 3-pointers made, one steal, and one block in 22.3 minutes.

Germany will face Canada on Sept. 9. That game will likely decide the winner of Group P. Canada’s roster features just two NBA players, but it should be an exciting contest.
