Dallas Mavericks center Boban Marjanovic helped the G-League jump start Assist Week by using his must-see throwback dime. See it here.

The Dallas Mavericks brought in Boban Marjanovic this offseason. The 7’3 big man turned 31 on Aug. 15 (Happy Birthday, Boban). He is entering his fifth NBA season.

Mavs fans know Marjanovic can grab rebounds, protect the rim, and score. He needs the right matchup to stay on the floor, but Boban is an asset.

Boban Marjanovic bounced around during his NBA career. He started with the San Antonio Spurs before playing for the Detroit Pistons, LA Clippers, and Philadelphia 76ers over the last four seasons. Marjanovic has never averaged more than 11.7 minutes per game during that time. He is a reserve center that will be a DNP-CD some nights.

Despite not playing a ton of minutes, Boban has only played three G-League games in his career. They all came during the 2015-2016 season for the Austin Spurs.

During that short stint, Boban Marjanovic produced an unbelievable assist that the G-League shared to help get the ball rolling on the NBA’s Assist Week. Enjoy the must-see play below.

Mavericks supporters should not expect plays like that from Bobi. In fact, he had 54 assists total last season. Marjanovic will be asked to fill a role for the Mavs. Making highlight reel passes will not be on his list.

Dallas fans should expect to hear more from Boban before training camp begins. He is headed to the 2019 FIBA World Cup as part of Serbian National Team. They are projected as the second favorite in the tournament behind Team USA. Nikola Jokic and Marjanovic figure to split the center minutes in China.
