Only improves
The Mavericks success on pick and roll plays will increase with the addition of Kristaps Porzingis. The 7’3 big man is a skilled roll man. His ability to hit jumpers opens up the defense more. During the 2017-2018 season, Porzingis produced a number of alley-oops off the pick and roll like the one below.

The two young stars will need some time to develop chemistry, but both are too skilled for it not to produce. Mavs fans should be excited about the possibilities.
That all goes without mentioning Dwight Powell. He was on the receiving end of plenty of last season’s highlights. Powell is penciled in as the starting center this fall. He should play more than his 21.6 minutes per game from last year. That means more lobs and dunks for one of the NBA’s most efficient scorers.
