The Dallas Mavericks may not have been a top team in the NBA last year, but between Luka Doncic, Dirk Nowitzki and Kristaps Porzingis, they were certainly a very interesting team. Which play/moment was the biggest for the Mavs last year.

For the next few weeks, we will be comparing what we have decided are the 16 best plays, moments or games from the Dallas Mavericks 2018-19 NBA season. Despite finishing the year with an unfortunate 33-49 record, the Mavs turned out to be one of the teams that fans around the league were watching and are eager to see in the upcoming season.

It all started with the drafting of Luka Doncic. The addition of the youngster from Slovenia who became so accomplished in overseas ball was huge for the Mavs who were searching for a new superstar. Luka took over immediately for Dirk Nowitzki, who was gearing up for his 21st and final season with the Mavs.

These were the two main storylines throughout the entire season for Dallas, although other moves and events stole the show for a time for a Mavs crowd desperate for something big. Big things are on their way, but the 2018-19 season was one that fans will never forget, either.

As we go through the matchups over the next several days, we will be listing the top moments of the season from our perspective. Today, we are focused on the matchup between the number 1 moment of the season overall vs. the number 16 moment. Be sure to follow the remaining matchups here on the site or on Twitter and Facebook.
