Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki threw down plenty of monster dunks during his career. Let us take a look back at some of the best.
Dallas Mavericks GOAT Dirk Nowitzki called it a career after last season. It marked 21 straight with Dallas. The legend accomplished it all on the basketball court and will go down as one of the all-time NBA greats.
Mavs fans were sad to see Dirk go. The best player in franchise history is in many ways synonymous with the team. Nowitzki stood out in his final two games in what was a fitting sendoff for the icon.

Nowitzki’s legacy was not built on dunks, though. He was a superstar in every sense of the word. Dirk invented a shot. He was one of the NBA’s best players for 17 consecutive seasons. Nowitzki led the Mavs to a championship in 2011 and plenty of playoff runs. Fans will always marvel at what Dirk accomplished.
The Dallas Mavericks will embark on their first season without Dirk Nowitzki since 1998 this fall. The future is bright thanks to the pairing of reigning Rookie of the Year Luka Doncic and 23-year-old former All-Star Kristaps Porzingis. Mavs fans are hopeful they can lead Dallas back to the postseason. It will be odd without Dirk on the court, though.
