Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki is living up so much in retirement that it is causing a few issues. Find out the latest here.

Dallas Mavericks GOAT Dirk Nowitzki decided to hang it up after 21 illustrious seasons in a Mavs uniform. The future Hall of Famer will go down as one of the all-time greats. Nowitzki made a massive impact on the Mavericks and the city of Dallas.

Dirk has been living up in retirement. Mavs owner Mark Cuban joked on his recent SiriusXM interview that Nowitzki has been eating so much he may need to let his suit out. The legend confirmed as much with his tweet on July 11.

The Mavericks are facing their first season since 1998 without Dirk this fall. He earned the right to live up during his unprecedented career, though.

Fans are waiting to hear what role Nowitzki will have with the organization for next season. He is unlikely to join the coaching staff, but expect Dirk to be around plenty in the years ahead. Nowitzki has stated that Dallas is his home now.

Cuban also promised a jersey retirement and a statue outside the American Airlines Center during Dirk’s retirement announcement. It would not be surprising to see 41 hanging in the rafters at some point this season.

The Dallas Mavericks are in good hands with Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis leading the charge. The front office attempted to fill the holes this offseason as the team pushes for the playoffs in 2020. It will be strange without Dirk Nowitzki on the court, though. Fans should not be worried. The Mavs have a young core that could develop into something special.
