Dallas Mavericks fans could see another trade go down because the team is reportedly interested in acquiring Andre Iguodala, according to Tim MacMahon.

The Dallas Mavericks want to use their cap space to build a contender for next season. They have added Seth Curry and Boban Marjanovic, but still, have over $20 million to spend.

The free agent market is becoming bare quickly. The Mavs are waiting on a decision from Danny Green. He is biding his time until Kawhi Leonard finds his next team. If the Mavericks strike out on Green, they will likely turn to the trade market to exhaust their cap space.

The Memphis Grizzlies want to deal newly acquire Andre Iguodala. Here is Tim MacMahon with the latest.

Iguodala is entering the final year of his contract and is scheduled to make $17.2 million next season.

He has been a massive part of the Warriors recent success. Iggy was an All-Star in 2012 but sacrificed a lot to join Golden State. The success made it worth it as the Warriors won three championships and made five straight NBA Finals.

They traded Iguodala to acquire D’Angelo Russell this offseason. Iggy averaged 5.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.8 blocks in 23.2 minutes per game last season. He also hit some massive shots in the postseason.

The Mavericks should be interested because of his playoff experience. If the goal is to make the postseason in 2020, the team needs players who have been there and done it. Iguodala has played in 145 playoff games in his career. He has 76 over the last five seasons in Golden State.

Andre Iguodala is on the downside of his career. If the Mavs miss out on Danny Green, Iguodala may be the best use of $17.2 million in cap space they can find. By all accounts, he is a fantastic teammate and locker room presence. Iguodala is still a productive player on the court, and he could help mentor the Mavericks young squad as well.
