5 Areas the Dallas Mavericks need to improve in this offseason
By Sean Bush
Pace
The Mavericks were a pretty slow team last year. They finished 20th in pace and a lot of that had to due with playing veterans like Wes Mathews or Dirk significant minutes. Now the Mavericks need to capitalize on Luka Doncic’s elite transition game and speed up their style.
Porzingis being able to play center on defense and power forward on offense gives you the flexibility to pair him with a more mobile big. The team can still target veterans, but they need to make sure they fit into a high pace system.
Dallas could become a great transition team with Doncic’s ability to thrive in open-court situations. Now it is important to add enough versatile, athletic players to take the next step into becoming a fast paced team.
