Dallas Mavericks guard and favorite for the Rookie of the year award, Luka Doncic, has earned some fans in the Dallas area.

Luka Doncic is one of the best players in the NBA right now and showed a lot of people signs of what he is going to be able to become in his time with the Dallas Mavericks. His fans are spread far and wide around the world, but many of his biggest fans are not too far away. Just ask Elvis Andrus, shortstop for the Texas Rangers.

Just a few days ago, a picture of Elvis rocking a Luka jersey went up on an Instagram story and was tweeted out by the Texas Rangers Twitter account. Elvis really went all out with the jersey, the shorts, the arm bands and the headband.

I am not entirely sure of the context for this photo, but I would really like to know. The caption on the post mentions a dress up day, but there really isn’t any other context as to why Elvis dressed up like Luka,

The camaraderie between the Rangers and the Mavericks has been around for many years, of course. Aside from representing the same geographical area, the Mavs and Rangers each had one of the most entertaining players in the league at one point.

Dirk Nowitzki is beloved around Dallas because of what he has done for the city. In fact, he has had several Rangers players come watch him play or even participate in Dirk’s Heroes Celebrity Baseball game in the past. I am unsure if any will be there this year, but there are ties between the teams there.

Adrian Beltre was pretty much impossible to hate during his MLB career. As the guy who always knew how to make every situation fun on and off the field while simultaneously being the best player for the Rangers, there were just too many great moments from him.

We are happy to see Elvis repping the Luka Doncic jersey and hope to see him at a game or two this season to see the greatness in person. And while we are at it, let’s get Luka out to a Rangers game to see what Elvis is made up of too. I think a jersey swap is in order.
