Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki admits that he is still dealing with pain in his foot and ankle. Hear what Dirk told Ben and Skin here.

Dallas Mavericks GOAT Dirk Nowitzki retired following the 2018-2019 season. The legend will go down as one of the all-time greats. He is sixth all-time in scoring and his 21 seasons all with one franchise is an NBA record. Dirk will always be a Maverick.

Injuries played a significant factor in Nowitzki’s retirement. He was limited to 51 games after ankle surgery and a subsequent setback did not allow him to play until Dec. 13. Dirk powered through the season, but those lower body injuries limited both his minutes and production.

Dirk still dealing with pain

The season concluded on April 10. That was the night Dirk dropped the 20 points and ten rebounds in San Antonio to cap his Hall of Fame career. Fans can read more about that game here.

On May 15, Nowitzki joined the Ben and Skin show on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. He was talking basketball, Mavs, and his charity baseball game coming up in June. Dirk noted that he is still dealing with pain. Fans can listen to what he had to say about the injuries here.

Hopefully, time off allows Nowitzki to heal up and the pain subsides. The Mavericks GOAT gave his all to the city of Dallas and fans should be thankful about that. Expect him to join the organization in some capacity in the near future. Stay tuned for all the latest.

Final thoughts

Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki still has pain in his foot and ankle. That is not something Mavs fans want to hear. We are all wishing Dirk the best in his retirement and in dealing with the injuries.

The Mavericks are dawning a new era next season. Luka Doncic will be the face of the franchise. Dallas will be pushing for the postseason, but first, they need to make moves in free agency to improve their roster.

That should have Mavs fans excited about the months ahead. All MFFL’s should keep it locked here for news, analysis, and rumors that they cannot find anywhere else.
