Admiral Schofield

Another player who had a great NCAA season and postseason is Tennessee’s Admiral Schofield. Schofield was one of the leaders for a very mature Tennessee team that made a big splash in the March Madness tournament this year. Schofield is one of few who made it through four full years of NCAA basketball before entering the draft.

There are plenty of good things that can be mentioned when talking about Admiral Schofield, but perhaps the one that would be the most intriguing for the Mavericks is his maturity. Schofield put that maturity on full display during the tournament when he elected to stay on the bench in favor of one of his teammates who was having a solid game. That kind of thing can be taken in a number of ways, but it does show a mature player that wants team success over individual.

Schofield is also a tremendous athlete with all-around skills that could help any team. He is a good defender, able to guard the wing position with his size and length. He has also turned into a great shooter, shooting over 40% from the three-point line over the past two seasons with Tennessee.

Schofield has a wide range of where he could get picked in the draft, from late first round to late second round. He is a really well-rounded player that does a lot of things right and won’t hardly make any major mistakes, but he is also not an elite player at any particular thing. His three-point shooting will be his main skill on display for the combine, but there are going to be better long ball shooters though.

Schofield will be looking to prove his athleticism and his decision making at the combine. Teams need to see that he can keep up with the skill and pace the NBA has set and that is something that the combine could show them quickly if he does everything right.
