The Dallas Mavericks have a ton riding on the 2019 NBA Draft lottery. Here is how fans can watch the action unfold on May 14.

Dallas Mavericks fans are in for a nerve-wracking evening on Tuesday. The annual NBA Draft lottery takes place, and the Mavs have a significant amount riding on the event.

Dallas traded their 2019 first round pick to the Atlanta Hawks as part of the Luka Doncic deal last summer. They made it top-five protected, though. That means the Mavericks need to move into the top four to keep their pick. Dallas has a 26.3 percent chance of retaining their first rounder.

They also have a 6.0 percent at the first overall selection and the rights to draft Zion Williamson.

The NBA made some lottery changes this season. They will select the first four picks. It was only three under the old model. The odds are also spread out in 2019. The three teams with the bottom regular season records all have a 14.0 percent chance at picking first. The organization will the worst mark stood at 25.0 percent of having the top choice last year.
