Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic deserves to win the Rookie of the Year. Mavs Twitter gave the debate an exclamation point on April 25.
Dallas Mavericks standout Luka Doncic dominated the rookie class this season. He led first-year players in points and minutes per game. Luka was also second in rebounds, assists, and efficiency. No other rookie can sniff that stat line.
Doncic was also the Mavericks best player from opening night. He led Dallas to 33 wins which outpaced the likes of Trae Young’s Hawks, Deandre Ayton’s Suns, and the Cavs with Collin Sexton.
It is difficult to make an argument for any player to win the Rookie of the Year not named Luka Doncic. The 20-year-old stood out in every way on the basketball court.
Mavs shut the debate down
Fans love to make it sound like the debate still rages on. Whether it be Hawks supporters clamoring for Trae Young to win Rookie of the Year or others just not believing in Luka, the chatter for the award happens on a daily basis.
The official Twitter account of the Mavericks shut the debate down on April 25 with the following Tweet.
The NBA will hand out the Rookie of the Year award on June 24. Expect Luka to take home the hardware.
