Dallas Mavericks rookie Luka Doncic will miss the March 31 game against the Oklahoma City Thunder with a thigh contusion.

Dallas Mavericks fans will remember star rookie Luka Doncic took a hard knee to the leg early in Thursday’s game against the Heat. He was seen hobbling throughout the night, but he was not sitting out with a crowd of Slovenian’s supporting him in Miami. Doncic had a productive game finishing with 19 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists in the 105-99 loss.

That injury may have caught up with Luka, though. Bobby Karalla shared the following Tweet updating Doncic’s status for Sunday game in Oklahoma City against the Thunder.

The news here gets worse. The Mavericks are playing a back-to-back on Sunday and Monday. The organization figures to be extremely caution with their 20-year-old star. Luka should be considered doubtful when the Mavs host the Sixers on April Fool’s Day too.

Heading into Sunday’s game, Dallas only has seven games remaining this season. The Mavericks are eliminated from contention so there is no reason to rush Doncic back to action when he is not 100 percent. Stay tuned for further updates on his injury as they become available.

Final thoughts

Dallas Mavericks stud rookie Luka Doncic is out on March 31 against the Thunder with a thigh contusion. Doncic has already played 70 games this season. It has been a historic rookie year for the Slovenian sensation too. Luka is averaging 21.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game in 32.2 minutes a night.

Going forward, Doncic could push those minutes up to 34-35 per game. He should also continue to improve his efficiency. Luka is on the path to superstardom, and Mavericks fans could not be more excited about his prospects.

The Dallas Mavericks have a massive summer head with plenty of questions to answer. Will they keep their first-round pick in 2019? How will the Mavs use their cap space this summer? Are there more trades in store to shape the roster around Luka further? It should be an exciting offseason, so please keep checking back for all the Mavericks content fans desire.
