Skills Challenge

Luka Doncic

“It’s a bit of a homer pick, but Luka Doncic will win the Skills Challenge. He’s got the right combo of shooting, ball handling, and passing ability to make the obstacle course no problem. The Skills Challenge can often come down to lucky bounces, but as we’ve seen this season, Doncic often has luck on his side.” –Ben Zajdel

“The year started with Trae Young and Luka Doncic comparisons. In true poetic fashion, the two phenomenal rookies will once again share the spotlight. Among the eight contestants I believe Luka (no surprise) will leave the Víctor. However, I think Trae Young will make for a competitive night and finish second.” –Lance Roberson

“The best way to describe Luka Doncic is skilled. Simply put, he can do whatever he wants on the court. I’m going with the rookie with a knack for rising to the occasion and surpassing expectations. I trust Doncic to use accuracy and precision to gain an edge on the competition that may be quicker on their feet. In the wunderkid I trust.” –Manny Dixon

De’Aaron Fox

“For my Skills Challenge winner, I’m going with De’Aaron Fox. Speed is a major part of this challenge as it is a race and Fox might be the fastest player in the league. I expect both rookies, Luka and Trae Young, to put up competitive performances but Fox is my pick.” –Sean Bush

“As much I l would love to see Luka win it for the Mavs, Fox seems like the most likely candidate. So far he has shown unbelievable speed this season and has even seen his percentage of the team’s assists jump from 34% to 41%. I have the feeling he has the narrow chance of winning the competition.” –Arsal Hussain

Nikola Jokic

“I’m going with Nikola Jokic. Jokic is a special player, with his stellar passing and shooting ability paired with his size. He will get a chance to prove these talents in the Skills Challenge.” –Badees Nouiouat

Mike Conley

“I am going to go with the veteran on this one. Mike Conley has been an impressive player for the Grizzlies for many years but has never gotten the respect he deserves as can be seen from his lack of any All-Star games from his career. Maybe this is the time he shows people what they have been missing out on.” –Kohl Rast
