Dallas Mavericks: Dwyane Wade compares Luka Doncic to LeBron

Dallas Mavericks rookie Luka Doncic received some high praise from Dwyane Wade during his final visit to Dallas including comparing him to LeBron James.

Dallas Mavericks rookie Luka Doncic is no stranger to praise. Since the day he arrived in Dallas, Luka has exceeded expectations. That has him averaging over 20 points per game as a 19-year-old. It also has the best players in the NBA singing his praises. Doncic likely got a bit excited about the chatter he received on Wednesday evening, though.

The Miami Heat made their only visit to Dallas this season on Feb. 13. That meant the final time for Dwyane Wade playing at the American Airlines Center. Wade has announced his retirement at season’s end. The Heat got the last laugh in the game with a 112-101 win behind a 22-point performance from D-Wade.

Doncic undoubtedly loved hearing that. LeBron James is his idol. Luka has admitted to modeling his game after King James.

Wade and LeBron being friends and former teammates made the comments that much more significant. Doncic turns 20 in a few weeks. Already having your name mentioned with the best player in the league is certainly noteworthy.

The potential for Luka is off the charts. The Mavericks could legitimately have the future face of the NBA on their roster right now. Throw in Kristaps Porzingis, and it is a fun time to be a Mavs fan.
