The Dallas Mavericks travel to face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Jan. 11 in a battle of Western Conference playoff hopefuls.

The Dallas Mavericks are beginning the second half of their season on Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Mavs are fresh off a 10-point victory over the Suns on Jan. 9 and are looking to make a winning streak tonight.

The Wolves have won three straight games, but it has not been without hiccups. Minnesota fired their head coach this week. The team won their first game under interim coach Ryan Saunders.

The injury bug has also hit the Timberwolves. Derrick Rose has also missed six straight games with an ankle injury. He is listed as questionable to face the Mavs. Rose has nearly regained his All-Star form, so his absence would be significant. Standout defender Robert Covington is out tonight with a bone bruise as well.

Here is how fans can watch the Jan. 11 battle between the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Start Time

Friday’s game inside the Target Center in Minneapolis begins at 8:00 p.m. ET or 7:00 p.m. local time in Dallas.

How to watch

Local broadcasts are the only way to view tonight’s contest. The Mavs have coverage on Fox Sports Southwest-Dallas. Fans in Minnesota’s market can watch on Fox Sports North.

Watch online

Fubo TV brings supporters NBA League Pass and all their favorite networks, so consider that stellar option this evening.

Friday’s game can also be streamed on the Fox Sports App in both local markets.

DSJ out

Mavericks fans received some bad news on Thursday. Tim MacMahon breaks it down in the following Tweet.

Expect point Luka on Friday evening with Dennis Smith Jr. out. Keep an eye out for updates on DSJ’s potential return during the contest.

Storyline to follow: Doncic vs. KAT

The game will be billed as a battle of these two likely All-Stars. Luka Doncic is fresh off his fourth 30-point game of the season. Karl-Anthony Towns has been on a tear in the Wolves last eight games. He is averaging 27.3 points, 16.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game during that period.

Doncic is also hot. Over the Mavs last ten games, Luka is producing 22.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 0.9 steals per. The rookie also had 26 points in the Mavs win against Minnesota on Oct. 20.

It will be interesting to see who the Mavericks use to guard Towns. They avoided using DeAndre Jordan on him in the first matchup. That means the task likely falls to Maxi Kleber and Harrison Barnes on Friday evening.

Whichever young star scores more will be a massive advantage in tonight’s contest. Mavs fans should always believe in Luka Doncic.

Final thoughts

Fans should tune in and enjoy the Dallas Mavericks battle against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Jan. 11. The legend Dirk Nowitzki is probable and looks to be ready to return from his illness. Mavericks fans should be excited about every chance to see the future Hall of Famer in action.

Andrew Wiggins is also fresh off a 40-point game, and Jeff Teague could be a matchup problem for Dallas this evening. The Mavs are going to need to play stout defense and limit turnovers to earn the elusive road victory on Friday.
