Dallas Mavericks: Mark Cuban is surprised by Luka Doncic and more news

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban told reporters the thing that surprised him most about rookie Luka Doncic and more news about the team.

The Dallas Mavericks have the best owner in professional sports. Mark Cuban revitalized the Mavs after buying the team in 2000 and continues to be their biggest supporter 18 years later.

Cuban was in attendance for the Mavericks blowout road victory over the Houston Rockets on Nov. 28. Dallas played well, but a fourth-quarter run by the bench unit pushed the game out of reach and led to a 128-108 victory for the Mavs.

Luka Doncic once again scored 20 points to continue his historic rookie season. Cuban was asked before the game if anything about Luka surprised him so far, and the answer was classic. Check it out here courtesy of Dwain Price.

Mavs currently in playoffs

The victory over the Rockets put the Mavericks in place they have not seen in the last two years. If the season ended today, Dallas would be in the playoffs for the first time since 2016. Dwain Price explains further in the Tweet below.

With this win the @dallasmavs (10-9) moved into the 8th spot in the Western Conference. That's playoff territory. After 19 games last year the Mavs were 4-15. That's a 6-game improvement. They play at the Lakers on Friday.

It has been an impressive recent run by the Mavericks. They have won three straight and seven of their last eight games. Doncic, improved defense, and the return to form of Harrison Barnes are fueling this hot stretch. Hopefully, the Mavs can keep it up all season and make the playoffs.
