Dallas Mavericks news: Luka Doncic has X-ray after win and more

Dallas Mavericks prized rookie Luka Doncic had his shoulder examined after Wednesday’s dominating win over the Jazz and more news around the team.

The Dallas Mavericks had their best game of the season on Nov. 14 against the Utah Jazz.  The Mavs hosted their annual Seats for Soldiers night, and they continued the tradition of winning with massive performances during that event.  The Mavericks won by 50 points with a final score of 118-68 over the Jazz.

Dallas is hot at the moment.  They have won three straight games.  The Mavs also just held Utah to the fewest points by an NBA team this season.  The defense has sparked the Mavericks during their recent run.  In all four wins in their last five games, Dallas has held the opponent to 100 points or fewer.

It was not all positive news for the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday, though.

Doncic has X-ray postgame

The Tweets that sent the Mavs fan base into a panic came shortly after the game ended.  The team sent star rookie Luka Doncic for X-rays after the game on his shoulder.  Here is what Dwain Price Tweeted to calm everyone down.

It sounds like it was a precautionary move and Doncic will play on Saturday against the Warriors.  Stay tuned for more information if it becomes available, though.

Matthews re-injures hamstring

Wesley Matthews missed Monday’s win in Chicago with a hamstring injury, but he played against the Jazz.  He appeared to re-injure that same hamstring in the third quarter.  Matthews never returned to the court, but the Mavs also had the game in hand.

Coach Carlisle downplayed the severity after the game, but it is still worth monitoring over the upcoming games.

It was a fantastic win, and Mavs fans should enjoy it.  The team is white hot right now.  It has definitely been fun to watch.
