The Dallas Mavericks opened up their short preseason with a game against the Chinese league, Beijing Ducks. Dallas made short work of the Ducks, finishing the game with a 116-63 win.

Although it was the first game action for a team largely put together this summer, the Dallas Mavericks looked good on the court, taking care of business against the Chinese league team, the Beijing Ducks. The Ducks featured no former NBA stars on this night, which helps explain how they were outscored in the 2nd half 64-21.

Dallas had a couple guys that had pretty good games tonight, including Luka Doncic, Dennis Smith Jr. and Maxi Kleber. While two of these guys already have their spots locked in on the final roster, this game will be a good one for Kleber. Maxi is one of the last few players on the outside looking in for a roster spot this coming fall.

Luka Doncic impressed in his debut, scoring 16 points and shooting 5-7 from the field. His game had some moments of sloppiness, but this is also his very first game going against some other professional level talent. He can definitely do a lot of special things on the courts, which was easy to see at times during the game.

Dennis Smith Jr. was his usual impressive self, getting to 16 points and 6 assists while shooting 6-10 from the field. DSJ looked good tonight, throwing the ball down and hitting a couple shots beyond the arc.

DeAndre Jordan did pretty good tonight in limited time, registering only 18 minutes, but getting 9 points through the hoop and snagging 8 rebounds in the process. He is going to be great this year and the Mavs are already seeing that.

Other Mavs players who made their debut in the Dallas uniform include, Jalen Brunson (8 points), Kostas Antetokounmpo (8), Ray Spalding (7), Ryan Broekhoff (6), Daryl Macon (6) and Codi Miller-McIntyre (0).
