Dallas Mavericks: DeAndre Jordan is in Dallas working hard

Dallas Mavericks free agent signee DeAndre Jordan is in town working out with his teammates in preparation for the upcoming season.
The Dallas Mavericks hauled in a big-time free agent this summer. Adding DeAndre Jordan to be their starting center and defensive anchor was a massive improvement.
Jordan is a co-favorite to lead the NBA in rebounding this season. Dallas struggled mightily on the boards last season. That is just one of many reasons why Jordan was a worthwhile signing.
DJ spent much of the offseason in Los Angeles training and enjoying some downtime. That is why Sept. 7 was an important day for fans.

That is the first fans have seen DeAndre Jordan wearing a Mavs shirt or working out in Dallas. The picture is maybe even more important after the chaos that ensued in attempting to sign Jordan three years ago. Those are bad memories, though. Let us forget about that and be excited that he is finally a Mav.
Doncic to Jordan
Mavericks’ rookie playmaker Luka Doncic is a master of the pick-and-roll. Jordan is one of the best screeners in the NBA and also known for his lob catching ability. The combination could be deadly this season. Mavs fans should be in for a treat watching this combination.
Not staying for good yet
Jordan was in Dallas on Friday, but he is not here to stay for the season yet. Below is a Tweet from Eddie Sefko with the details.
There was a DeAndre Jordan sighting at the Mavericks' practice facility today. He arrived early for a workout. Still has some out-of-town commitments, but will be back for good late next week, I'm told.

Final thoughts
DeAndre Jordan was in town working out with his Dallas Mavericks teammates. The big man should make the Mavs an improved team this season. Jordan is one of the best centers in the NBA. He is a fantastic rebounder, efficient shooter, and defensive anchor. All those traits should improve the team in Dallas. Stay tuned for what should be an exciting season.
