Dallas Mavericks: Steve Nash is officially a Hall of Famer

Former Dallas Mavericks point guard Steve Nash is officially a member of the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame after his induction on Sept. 7.

The Dallas Mavericks saw two former players head into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame as members of the Class of 2018.  Former point guard Steve Nash was the second Mav to become a Hall of Famer after his induction and speech on Friday.

Nash had his NBA breakout playing in Dallas in 2000 and went on to be one of the best point guards in the NBA for the next 13 seasons.  He was an eight-time All-Star, led the league in assists five times, was a seven-time All-NBA team member, and won two MVP awards.

Nash changed the game of basketball with his up-tempo offense.  He was one of the greatest shooters in NBA history (42.8 percent career 3-point shooter).  Nash was an amazing pass-first point guard that helped usher in the age of basketball fans enjoy so much today.  He was definitely deserving of entering the Hall of Fame.

Steve Nash thanked the Dallas Mavericks and members of their organization plenty in his Hall of Fame speech on Sept. 7.  He shared plenty of love for fellow Hall of Famer and Dallas coach Don Nelson and Mavs teammates Dirk Nowitzki and Michael Finley.  Nash’s time in Dallas clearly has a special place in his heart.
