3. Greatest franchise player of all time

The final expectation is one that Dirk doesn’t have to do much to attain. After playing in this 21st season with the same NBA team, Dirk will be in sole possession of the most seasons with one franchise. That, along with all of his other accomplishments, his relationship with the front office, and the fact that no Mavs fan has ever hated him all add up to one thing.

Dirk Nowitzki will go down as the greatest franchise player of all time.

Now, I know that Kobe Bryant has his argument. He does have more championships and is higher on the scoring list, but there are downsides to Kobe. For one, he didn’t want to be there the entire time he was. Even though he and the Lakers held out for the entire 20 years, there was a bad relationship for a large portion of the time.

Dirk Nowitzki is exactly who he has been since he got here. He is an incredible basketball player who is an even more incredible person. Between his play, his constant discounts, and his work in the community, there is no comparison to Dirk and there may never be again.

Dallas Mavericks: Don't let Dennis Smith's demeanor fool you. Next

Dirk Nowitzki is the greatest Dallas Mavericks player of all time and will go down as one of the best to ever play the game. He has done some incredible things in the first 20 years of his career and that will not change in his final year either.
