The two-way contracts

The Dallas Mavericks have already signed Kostas Antetokounmpo and Daryl Macon to fill their two-way contract spots.

Kostas Antetokounmpo

A very raw rookie 2nd round pick out of Dayton University, Kostas is the little brother of NBA superstar Giannis Antotekounmpo. The Mavericks selected Kostas with the last pick in the draft, and the young man showed a lot of potential, especially defensively, during Summer League play. He will most likely spend nearly or entirely all of his minutes this year in Frisco with the Texas Legends.

Daryl Macon

Daryl Macon is an undrafted rookie guard from the University of Arkansas. Macon is a bit undersized at 6’3 but was an excellent player during his four-year career in Fayetteville.

Macon is a prolific outside shooter, and he is very quick with the ball in his hands. He is not the greatest distributor or defender, but he usually competes hard in all facets of the game. Macon chose to sign with Dallas over Miami, so the rookie guard had other options.

It would be surprising to see these two lose their spots, particularly Antetokounmpo, but it is still a possibility. Any of Ingram, Larrier, Miller-McIntyre, or Yanyuhang could steal Macon’s place with an impressive enough camp.

Donte Ingram is a name to watch closely here. He signed a special type of deal called an Exhibit 10 contract which means it can convert into a 2-way deal despite not initially being inked as one. The rookie forward from Loyola University (Chicago) is fresh off leading his team on a Cinderella run to the Final Four. Could he pull off the improbable yet again?
