Bruno Caboclo

Another Brazilian on the list, Bruno Caboclo would be a nice addition for Dallas as well. At 6’9″ and with an incredible 7’7″ wingspan, Caboclo could be a pretty effective defensive wing in the NBA if he were to develop well. He is only 22 years old and has a lot of basketball and learning left in him, so a small contract would definitely be worth it for the young Brazilian.

During his short four-year career, Caboclo has really never gotten a chance from either Toronto or Sacramento. He has only played in 35 total games and 213 total minutes in the past four years of basketball. This seems like it would be telling of his abilities, but sometimes teams just don’t give players a chance to fit into their system well.

Toronto has been trying to compete for a title the last few years and Sacramento has been pretty dysfunctional for awhile so neither team would be the ideal spot for a guy like Caboclo. The Mavs, on the other hand are low on wing depth and he would be able to get an opportunity to find some playing time if he earned it.

I like the measurements for Caboclo and think that he could transform into a defensive specialist for whichever team gets him. I think Dallas should try and be that team. It’s not like they haven’t done stranger things with roster spots in the past.
