The Chicago Bulls are ready to part ways with the polarizing Nikola Mirotic, if the right offer comes along. Should the Dallas Mavericks make an offer, or avoid him completely?
The rumors of Nikola Mirotic being an available trade target have definitely peaked the interest of a few teams, and the Dallas Mavericks could potentially be one of them. After a less than ideal start to the season that had Mirotic missing the first 23 games thanks to an injury given to him by a teammate, Niko has been a major catalyst for the Bulls.
Averaging 17.4 points and 7 rebounds, while shooting at an excellent 48.6% from the field and 46.5% from downtown, Mirotic has made a big difference for the Chicago Bulls team. After starting the season with an impressive 3-20 record during the Mirotic injury, the Bulls have since gone 11-6 with the big man from Montenegro on the court.
Despite his success, Mirotic continues to request a trade from the Chicago Bulls, citing the preseason conflict between him and Bobby Portis. The paltry record and upcoming rebuild likely helped Mirotic in his decision as well.
Because of his successful start to the season, we wanted to know if he would be a good fit for the Dallas Mavericks. There is no denying that Mirotic comes with some baggage, and his play has been good but inconsistent, but a pure scorer like him would sure be nice to have.
Myself and staff writer, Sean Bush, wanted to have a little debate on whether we should be calling the Bulls or not about the sharp-shooting power forward. Here are our responses.
