The Dallas Mavericks travels to the East Coast to battle it out with the Washington Wizards for their second win of the season.

The quest for the Mavericks second victory of the season continues as they face off against the Washington Wizards tonight. Sitting at 1-10, Dallas is in dire need to get out of this slump but the Wizards are no push over.

Coming off an impressive victory against Toronto without star point guard John Wall, the Wizards proved they can compete even when they’re undermanned, as Bradley Beal took charge and scored 38 points. As for Wall’s status tonight, he’s been listed as probable which makes for another challenging matchup for rookie Dennis Smith Jr.

With Wall presumably back in the lineup, the Mavericks will have their hands full defensively across the board as the big 3 of Wall, Beal, and Porter Jr. average a combined 64.5 points per game.

For the Mavericks offensively, Barnes and DSJ have to get it going. They have both been aggressive as of late, but with the Wizards fire power, shots must fall tonight. Another big factor tonight is the play of the Mavs bench. J.J. Barea has arguably been the most consistent player on the Mavs this season and Devin Harris has been a plus/minus monster.

My player to watch tonight is Wes Matthews. His plate is full for tonight’s game as he is in charge of guarding Bradley Beal. The former Florida Gator is having his best season yet, as Beal is averaging 25.7 points per game. Matthews must defend Beal as if his life is on the line while also being able to knock down open three balls on offense.
