Still searching for their second win, the Dallas Mavericks welcome Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins to town.
After a lackluster performance against the Los Angeles Clippers November 1st, the Dallas Mavericks hope to break their losing streak when Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans come to town on November 3rd.
The Mavericks will need to keep Davis (27 ppg.), and fellow twin tower DeMarcus Cousins (30 ppg.) in check in order to stay competitive in this game.Nerlens Noel, Dwight Powell and most likely Salah Mejri will have their plates completely full with the pair of them, making this an unfavorable matchup for the Mavericks at home.
On the bright side however, the Pelicans sit toward the bottom in the league in turnovers, coughing up the ball 16 times a game, an issue the Mavericks have not experienced heavily thus far.
For Dallas, a team that has struggled with consistency in almost everything this season, this 1-8 start to the season is the worst start since the 1993-1994 season, when the team only won 13 games.

Despite the tough matchup Davis and Cousins bring to the frontcourt, the supporting cast around them do not have much to offer, making it easier for the Mavericks to focus their defensive efforts on the best big-man duo in the league.
The Mavericks will need consistency from guys like Harrison Barnes and Wesley Matthews on the offensive side who have struggled to do just that in this young season. In the last two losses Dallas has endured, Barnes has scored a total of 20 points, while Matthews is right behind with 19 points.
A more consistent performance will be needed from the two highest-paid players on the team if the Mavericks want to dig themselves out of this whole they’ve created.
Next: Boston, Noel and the DPE
On the bright side, with only nine games into the season there is still plenty of basketball left to be played for Dallas to right the ship, and rack up some more wins.
