The Dallas Mavericks have made massive improvements to their culture and chemistry this season. It was just nine months ago, that turmoil and dysfunction surrounded the team after a second straight first-round playoff loss and a scathing report by The Athletic (subscription required). The Mavs hired Jason Kidd as head coach, and many fans were skeptical, but the Hall of Fame point guard has exceeded nearly all expectations this season.

Throughout the year, the Mavericks have continued to improve their chemistry. They signed Theo Pinson during the team’s COVID outbreak back in December and decided to keep him around for the rest of the season because of his ability to lift the team’s spirits. Dallas traded Kristaps Porzingis because they saw Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans as better on-court fits with their roster and to improve their flexibility moving forward.

Dinwiddie and Pinson are bringing plenty of laughs to the team. Since the Porzingis trade, the Mavericks have won seven of their nine games, and the vibes around the team are through the roof. Fans can even see it on social media.

Pinson joined the Nets in 2018, and the rookie was teammates with Spencer Dinwiddie for two seasons where the two developed a bond. Since Dinwiddie came to Dallas, fans have seen them going back and forth on social media. Here is a recent exchange with Dinwiddie explaining more about their relationship.

The Mavericks are 25-10 since Pinson joined the team, and that includes a stretch where they were hit hard by COVID. His ability to bring energy off the bench has been massive even on a night where he does not see the floor. Pinson is currently out with a broken finger, but it has not stopped him from bringing hype to the team.

The Dallas Mavericks are a dangerous team that nobody wants to battle in the playoffs. The energy and vibes around the organization only make them a scarier opponent. The Mavs have one of the best players in the world in Luka Doncic, and the team is competing hard on both ends of the floor. Stay tuned because the Mavericks could surprise some people in the playoffs this year.
