7. Naji Marshall

The Dallas Mavericks' first signing of free agency was a shock to many, as they signed Naji Marshall to a three-year, $27 million deal on the first night that free agency opened. This move shocked some fans as re-signing Derrick Jones Jr. was viewed as one of the team's priorities, but fans have already grown to love Marshall.

Last season for the New Orleans Pelicans, Marshall averaged 7.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists while shooting 38.7 percent from downtown. Marshall had the best 3-point shooting season of his career, but his defense is what fans are most excited about.

Marshall moves his feet well on the perimeter and has the size to compete with bigger forwards, and is always one of the most competitive players on the court. Dallas landed an elite role player in Marshall, and his play on the floor combined with his age and contract make him a valuable trade asset.

Marshall's $9 million annually is a steal for a 26-year-old 3-and-D wing, and he is one of the most underrated players in the NBA. You can never have too many 3-and-D wings on your roster, and Marshall is the type of player that any team would want.

He plays excellent defense, hits open shots, and is an elite competitor. No one is going to lay a hand on Luka Doncic when Marshall is sharing the floor with him, and his ability to do all the little things is priceless.
