12. Dante Exum

The Dallas Mavericks made one of the most underrated moves in all of the NBA last summer when they signed Dante Exum to a two-year deal. Exum had been playing overseas for multiple seasons, and although there was some initial doubt from some when he first joined the Mavs, he quickly proved to everyone why he belongs in the NBA.

Last season, Exum averaged 7.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assists while shooting 49.1 percent from downtown. Exum's resurrection as a shooter helped him stick in the NBA, and he turned into one of the most consistent role players for the Mavs during the regular season.

Exum's postseason run didn't go as planned as his role fluctuated and severely lacked confidence, but everyone knows what he is capable of. Exum is someone who can start if needed, and his defense, 3-point shooting, and ability to handle the ball make him someone who should be coveted around the NBA.

Exum is on an expiring contract and will become an unrestricted free agent next summer, but he could have some trade value depending on how he performs in the first half of the season. Dallas likely won't be selling hard at the deadline considering that they are among the favorites to return to the NBA Finals, but Exum could be someone who draws interest around the league due to his 3-and-D capabilities.

The 2024-25 season will be huge for Exum, and it could determine his fate moving forward.
