5. Klay Thompson

The Dallas Mavericks addressed their need for more shooting at the beginning of free agency when they acquired Klay Thompson through a six-team sign-and-trade. Dallas needed to find a knockdown shooter on the open market, and they also needed a third scorer.

Klay Thompson is poised to tackle both of those needs with ease, and he also happens to be on a team-friendly three-year, $50 million contract. Thompson's deal would likely be easy to move if things were to go south in Dallas, and he still remains one of the greatest shooters to ever touch a basketball.

Last season for the Golden State Warriors, Thompson averaged 17.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 38.7 percent from downtown in a "down year." Those are incredible numbers for a veteran shooting guard, and he gives the Mavs a new wrinkle in their offense that they needed badly.

With Thompson being on a team-friendly deal while also being one of the best shooters ever, he is someone that any team looking for shooting would be calling the Mavs about. His contract is easily moveable, and he still has something left on the defensive end of the floor, and that part of his game has almost been completely overlooked.

Thompson may not be the same player that he was before the injuries, but he is still going to be the starting three for Dallas to begin the year and will be a key contributor over the next few years.
