Biggest strength of Dallas Mavericks roster: 2. Shooting

Luka Doncic creates a ton of open looks, especially from beyond the 3-point line off of drive and kick actions. The Mavs superstar is going to get into the paint, and he has the vision to find any open teammate, so Dallas wants to be putting shooting around Doncic after they watch him lead arguably the best offense in the NBA for the last two years.

The Mavericks shot the sixth-most 3-pointers in the league last season, and they finished 18th in percentage in a performance that simply was not good enough.

The new front office lead by Nico Harrison focused on getting Dallas more shooting as they added three players that short north of 41 percent from long range last season. Yes, Frank Ntilikina’s was on limited attempts, but he hit the ones he took.

Adding even two 40-percent shooters from 3-point range to a group that is expecting some internal growth could make Dallas one of the best shooting teams in the league this season. Luka will keep improving his jumper and so will others. How much is the key to where the Mavs land in 3-point percentage.

Expect Luka to create a ton of open looks, and the Dallas Mavericks are better equipped to knock down those long-range jumpers after adding a few key rotation pieces.
