For over the last 20 years, Mark Cuban has been one of the faces of Dallas Mavericks basketball.

Ever since he bought the team in 2000, Cuban is someone you immediately think of when talking about the Mavs. He was a great owner for over 20 years and helped bring Dallas their first NBA Finals win in 2011, but he made a decision in the middle of last season that no one was expecting.

In November of last season, it was reported that Cuban would be selling a majority stake of the Mavs to the Adelson family, known for their stock in the Las Vegas Sands Corporation. The Adelson family is big in the casino game, and right when they bought the team, one specific rumor began to fly online.

Many Mavs fans feared that with the Adelson's buying the team that they'd move from Dallas to Las Vegas. Multiple other professional sports teams have moved to Vegas as of late, so why would that stop the Mavs?

Mark Cuban reaffirms Mavericks are staying in Dallas

Despite all of the online drama and hypotheticals from fans, it doesn't look like moving to Vegas is anywhere in the Mavs' plans according to Cuban.

"We're not going anywhere," Cuban said during the sports economics forum hosted by the Greater Dallas Planning Council.

Cuban also said that the "goal" is to keep the arena in Dallas city limits, with some people speculating that the new stadium would end up near the convention center or at the site where Reunion Arena used to be. Keeping the arena in city limits would likely please most fans, as two of the major sports teams in Dallas are already outside of the city limits with the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys playing in Arlington.

Mavs fans can rest assured that the team is staying in Dallas, and the team has plans to build a resort-style stadium within the city limits. There has been speculation that the team could move to Irving since the Adelson family bought a large plot of land out there.

Even then, it seems like Cuban is set on keeping the team in Dallas city limits, and fans can rest assured that the rumblings of the team moving to Las Vegas were just from fans. The team's plan was never to move to Las Vegas, and the hometown Mavs look to be staying in Big D.

For now.
