30 Greatest Dallas Mavericks in history, ranked by Player Efficiency Rating (PER)
By Noah Weber
22. Salah Mejri - 16.3
Salah Mejri being on this list is the most shocking of anyone on this list, and his four seasons with the Dallas Mavericks were honestly somewhat forgettable. Mejri played for the Mavericks from 2015 until 2019 and played in 204 games and started in 22 games.
Mejri averaged 3.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 0.4 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game as a Maverick while shooting 60.3 percent from the field. He was a solid rim protector off the bench for Dallas, but him being top 30 in PER in Mavericks history is a massive surprise considering how underwhelming his time with the Mavs was.
After his fourth season with the team, he went back to playing overseas and most recently played for Kazma in Kuwait.
Mejri's time in Dallas will be remembered for his ferocious blocks from the weak side and for being 7-foot-2 with a massive wingspan. He was also a decent rebounder and hustled when fully engaged, but his finishing in the pick and roll was also underrated.
Mejri threw down some crazy slams out of the pick and roll every once and a while and was good at creating second-chance opportunities for his teammates. He was never super skilled with the ball in his hands, but he became a respectable shooter during his last season in the NBA as he shot 32.4 percent from downtown on 0.9 attempts per game.
