4. Dirk Nowitzki - 22.4
The greatest Dallas Maverick of all time, Dirk Nowitzki, lands at No. 4 on this list, and his 21 years in Dallas made him one of the greatest players ever, and a fan-favorite for Dallas sports fans due to his loyalty and excellence on the court.
In 21 seasons for the Mavs, Nowitzki averaged 20.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game while shooting 47.1 percent from the field and 38 percent from downtown. Nowitzki's shooting ability at his size changed the game forever, and his signature fadeaway jumper has inspired countless players in the NBA to add that move to their bag.
Nowitzki took the Mavs to the NBA Finals twice during his 21-year career, with both times being against the Miami Heat. Miami got the best of Dallas in 2006, but 2011 was a different story.
The Mavs defeated the Heat in six games, and Nowitzki was named the 2011 NBA Finals MVP. Nowitzki was unstoppable during this playoff run, and he helped bring home Dallas' only NBA Championship.
While Nowitzki was great on the court, he was just as awesome off the floor. He was always involved in helping the DFW community in any way that he could and was always friendly to the fans.
Nowitzki is one to never turn down an autograph request, and his loyalty to this city despite receiving several contract offers to play elsewhere for more money will always be appreciated. He now has a statue outside the American Airlines Center, and his impact on the Mavs is priceless.
