5. Kristaps Porzingis - 20.9
Current Boston Celtics forward Kristaps Porzingis landing so high on this list may be a shock to many due to the way that he wore out his welcome as a Dallas Maverick, but it is undeniable that he was solid for Dallas when he was on the floor.
In 186 games for Dallas, Porzingis averaged 20.0 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.6 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game while shooting 44.8 percent from the field and 34.5 percent from downtown. Porzingis struggled to stay on the floor with the Mavs, and without the maturity issues, he and Luka Doncic could have been one of the best duos in the NBA for years to come.
Porzingis was traded to Dallas during Doncic's rookie year as they traded multiple players including Dennis Smith Jr. to the New York Knicks in exchange for Porzingis along with several other players. At the surface, this deal looked like an amazing deal for the Mavs, but over time, it was clear that Porzingis was never going to work in Dallas.
He was always getting injured, and he and Doncic never seemed to get along. A team with two co-stars who don't like each other will never work in the end, and Dallas got rid of Porzingis at the 2022 NBA trade deadline as they traded him to the Washington Wizards for Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans.
This trade ended up working out for Dallas as they made the Western Conference Finals later that year, but it seems as if Porzingis' time in in Dallas will unfortunately always be remembered for the bad, not the good.
