By Noah Weber
8. Steve Nash - 19.1
Steve Nash played for the Dallas Mavericks from 1998 until 2004, and he and Dirk Nowitzki would have had the chance to win multiple championships together if they stuck around longer. Nash is one of the greatest point guards of all time, and he won back-to-back NBA MVP awards in the years immediately following the end of his time in Dallas.
In six seasons as a Maverick, Nash averaged 14.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 0.9 steals per game while shooting 46.8 percent from the field and 41.6 percent from downtown. Nash was the definition of a true point guard, and his player development during his early years in Dallas was remarkable.
Nash went from averaging 7.9 points per game in his first season with the team to averaging 17.9 points per game in his fourth season with the team, and he was voted into the All-Star Game for the first time.
Nash was a wizard with the ball in his hands, and he was the best passer on the floor at all times. Nash is one of the smartest players ever, and his ability to get everyone else involved while also attacking when he needed to was great. He seemingly always made the right play, and fans will always wonder how great he and Nowitzki could have been together if they played together for longer.
