30 Greatest Dallas Mavericks in history, ranked by Player Efficiency Rating (PER)
By Noah Weber
14. Rolando Blackman - 17.2
Another Dallas Mavericks star from their early days in the 1980s makes the list, and Rolando Blackman lands at No. 14 on the list with a player efficiency rating of 17.2. Blackman, just like Derek Harper, has his number retired by the Mavs and he will never be forgotten.
In 12 seasons for Dallas, Blackman averaged 19.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 0.8 steals per game while shooting 49.7 percent from the field and 32.9 percent from downtown. Blackman played 862 regular season games for the Mavs, made the All-Star Game four times, and helped lay the foundation to help get this team to where they are today.
Blackman never backed down from anyone, and he and Mark Aguirre formed a dominant duo in Dallas in the backcourt that helped get this franchise started strong. Both players were dynamic scorers and made a huge impact in every game that they played in.
Blackman only played two seasons on a team other than the Mavs (the New York Knicks) and he was a staple of Dallas basketball.
Blackman had a killer pull-up jumper and his finishing around the bucket was also underrated. He was a four-time All-Star as a member of the Mavericks and will always be a Mavs legend. He is now the Vice President of Corporate Operations for the Mavs.
