Just like Dennis Smith Jr. with rumors surrounding him coming back to Dallas, there are rumors of Spencer Dinwiddie returning to Dallas.

Dinwiddie is very familiar with the Mavs and so are Mavs fans. In 2022 when the Mavs reached the Western Conference Finals, Dinwiddie played a key part in helping the Mavs make it that far in the playoffs.

Unfortunately for Dinwiddie, he had a down 2023-24 season with the Nets and Lakers. A return to Dallas can help him elevate his game where it used to in Dallas. A key part with Dinwiddie is he's shown he can thrive next to Luka Doncic. He also can be a third ball handler and can be a third or fourth scorer next to Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson.

Dinwiddie's game in Dallas didn't go without recognition as former teammate Theo Pinson believed if Dinwiddie wasn't signed by the Lakers, the Mavs would come out of the West. Even without Dinwiddie, the Mavs still won the West. Adding Dinwiddie would make them stronger.

Dinwiddie had the chance to sign with Dallas last season, and now he has the chance to make up for his decision to join the Lakers.

The Dallas Mavericks are still looking to add another piece to their roster. Five former Mavs are available to sign and can make a positive impact in some kind of way.
