4. Winner: Jason Kidd

Before the trade deadline, the Dallas Mavericks were struggling.

They struggled closing out close games, couldn't rebound, and couldn't defend the best. They have been extremely injured all season, but it didn't seem like the Mavs were going to be playing deep into the playoffs.

Since the trade deadline, the Mavs have gone undefeated and are riding a six-game winning streak. Dallas looks as strong as ever, and due to the fact that Dallas now has so much more lineup versatility, Jason Kidd is a winner from the trade deadline.

Adding P.J. Washington and Daniel Gafford to a team that needed defense badly was massive, and Kidd can now send Dereck Lively II to the bench without fearing that the other team is going to dominate on the glass and in the paint. The Mavs needed a backup center badly, and Gafford has been phenomenal in his role off the bench.

Kidd now has multiple great wing defenders that he can throw at other teams, and the trades allow Derrick Jones Jr. to move to the bench, a role more fitting for a veteran's minimum signing. This isn't trying to take away from Jones Jr.'s solid season, but his play has declined, and the trade for Washington happened at the perfect time.
