Jaylen Brown has a close relationship with Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving

Brown played two seasons with Kyrie in Boston, including helping the Celtics reach the conference finals in 2018. Irving left after two years and a public decree that he would stay. The two did not get along swimmingly as teammates, but they have since become close.

Brown backed Irving during his suspension earlier this season, and Kyrie noted that JB is “a brother of mine” back in December. They have great respect for each other and want to help each other succeed.

Irving is known as a fantastic recruiter. He convinced Kevin Durant to join him in Brooklyn and was the driving force for bringing multiple players to the Nets. It has not always worked out how Kyrie has hoped, but the eight-time All-Star is an attractive teammate for the other top players in the league. Irving is unselfish on the floor and willing to sacrifice for team success.

Could Kyrie Irving convince Jaylen Brown to join the Dallas Mavericks when he hits the open market? The franchise would have to acquire him via a sign-and-trade, which means giving up something to the Celtics, but Dallas could have the best “Big 3” in the league. That is just another selling point to convince Brown to leave Boston for the Mavs.
