The 3 most underpaid Dallas Mavericks for next season
By Noah Weber
The NBA season is just a few months away, and the Dallas Mavericks made some great moves this summer.
The Mavs missed the playoffs last season and had to make major moves to the roster. After Dallas traded for Kyrie Irving, their defense struggled even more. They didn't have the depth to push for the playoffs, and Dallas struggled down the stretch.
They ended up tanking the final two games of the season and got to keep their first-round pick as a result of that.

Dallas ended up selecting Dereck Lively II with the No. 12 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and later selected Olivier-Maxence Prosper with the No. 24 pick. Both of these players will be valuable pieces in the Mavs' rotation this season, and them tanking those two games could be worth it.
Other than their huge draft night, the Mavericks have also had big success in free agency.
They were able to re-sign Kyrie Irving to a three-year contract, and later that night signed Seth Curry to a two-year deal. Dallas also acquired Grant Williams through a sign-and-trade and signed Derrick Jones Jr. to a one-year deal.
All of these players will be vital to the Mavericks' success next season, and they retooled in the right way. Dallas needed to put more high-end role players around Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, and they did just that.
Another underrated aspect of this offseason is that they landed some great value contracts. No one was really overpaid, and they were smart with their money this summer.
