3. Dorian Finney-Smith
Is it already time to bring him back home? The Dallas Mavericks traded Dorian Finney-Smith this past season in the deal for Kyrie Irving, but why not consider a deal to get him back to Dallas?
Finney-Smith was a perfect fit for the Mavericks, and if they could bring him back into the fold, it would be a massive win for all parties involved. He’s still on a great contract and was a brutal loss this past season.
Last year, Finney-Smith enjoyed a career season before his numbers fell off a bit this past season, but playing alongside Luka Doncic undoubtedly had a huge impact on his numbers throughout the years.
Bringing him back onto the team would give the Mavericks a great defensive presence and a familiar face who can knock down his three-point shots. Patty Mills would be a nice veteran addition, too.
As for the Brooklyn Nets, they don’t necessarily need Finney-Smith. With Royce O’Neale, Cameron Johnson, and Mikal Bridges in the fold, and rookie Noah Clowney in need of minutes, they could afford to trade a forward.
Tim Hardaway Jr. would give them some nice wing depth, but the first-round pick would be the real prize, as they would add to their large pool of draft assets.
Potential starting lineups
