Dallas Mavericks trade rumors: Christian Wood, JaVale McGee, and Tim Hardaway Jr. are being shopped
Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports reported the Mavericks are shopping JaVale McGee. He signed a three-year deal with the team in the offseason and was the starting center to begin the season, but things have not worked out. McGee is not part of the nightly rotation at this point, and Dallas would love to move on. Can the Mavericks get off of his contract before Thursday’s deadline? They are exploring their options.
ESPN’s Tim MacMahon noted that both Tim Hardaway Jr. and Christian Wood are being shopped in the latest Hoop Collective column (subscription required). THJ has two years and $34.1 million left on his contract after this season, which could limit his market. Wood is on an expiring contract and extension talks have not materialized. Can the Mavericks trade both players for defensive upgrades before Thursday’s deadline?
Right now, it appears the team’s roster will have Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving on it after the deadline. Everybody else is in play. They would prefer to keep Josh Green, but the Dallas Mavericks are willing to deal him if the return is right. Buckle up because it will be a wild and rumor-filled two days before the 2023 trade deadline. Do not miss it.
