2. PJ Washington

On August 26, 2023, PJ Washington signed a well-deserved three-year $46.5 million contract. This extension with the Charlotte Hornets will secure him through the 2025-26 NBA season. However, this doesn't mean he will be a Hornet for that duration.

Talks with the Dallas Mavericks for a potential sign-in trade for Washington never materialized during the offseason, but it seemed like every fan wanted him in Dallas. For Dallas, Washington would become the instant starting four and an instant offensive threat. Washington most recently posted a career-high 15.7 points per game, and alongside Doncic, you could surely expect this to only rise.

The on-court product for the 25-year-old would be pretty seamless in Dallas. His fit alongside Doncic would only free up more post-up opportunities and open shots. Furthermore, Washington's rebounding ability would be instantly felt within the Mavericks rotation. He would become an elite rebounder next to the lucrative amount of floor spacers that Dallas has.

Washington is also a solid defender, and he would fit great next to Grant Willliams. Dallas would be stacked with perimeter defenders, and would easily be contenders in the Western Conference.

Due to Washington's most recent contract extension, a deal couldn't take place until the trade deadline, but the Mavericks could very well pursue Washington aggressively if he looks unhappy in Charlotte.
