Christian Wood shows off his skills at Dallas Mavericks Fan Jam

Nobody was talking about Wood after the team’s live practice, but the 6’10 forward did not miss the chance to show off his skill set at Fan Jam.

Wood brought the ball up the court on several occasions, and he showed off his ability to drive during Saturday’s scrimmage. Fans can see the 6’10 forward taking it to the rim below.

Wood has a versatile offensive game that was on full display. He caught some lobs, attacked the basket, and can shoot it from 3-point range. The Mavericks plan to bring him off the bench, but he will be a key scorer for the team this season.

Wood caught a lob in overtime for the blue team’s only two points, but it was not enough. Still, the newcomer impressed in his first action with the Mavericks, and fans should be excited to see how he fits with the team.

Wood’s defense and ability to put up numbers on a winning team are still question marks, but he should be outstanding next to Luka Doncic on the offensive end of the floor. Wood can pick and pop or roll, and he should be able to take advantage of the space created by Doncic. They were on opposite teams in Saturday’s Fan Jam, but it will be interesting to see how their chemistry develops over the season.
