4 signings the Dallas Mavericks will regret come January
By Noah Weber
The Dallas Mavericks have a completely different roster compared to the end of the year last season and made plenty of acquisitions in free agency to bolster their roster.
Many of Dallas' new additions look great through the first few games, but Dallas could regret some of these signings once the new year rolls around.
There are always players that overperform and underperform, and Dallas has multiple of each of those types of players.

You can't predict how a certain player is going to fit and you never know what they'll bring to the floor when you sign them to contracts. Dallas is 3-0 after Monday night's victory over the Grizzlies, but there are always things that teams could have done better during the summer.
Here are four signings that the Mavs could regret once 2024 hits.
4. Kyrie Irving
This signing is the least likely signing that Dallas could regret once 2024 rolls around, but it's possible that the Mavs may regret re-signing Kyrie Irving here in a few months.
Irving missed Monday night's game against the Memphis Grizzlies with a left foot sprain, and he hasn't been great when on the floor this season. In two games, Irving averages 19.5 points, 6.0 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game while shooting 39 percent from the field and 16.7 percent from three.
Irving's early injuries in the preseason and now his foot sprain could be a negative sign for the season, but both injuries seem minor.
He will likely turn it around and be elite offensively just as he was last year, but so far, he hasn't been the best.
Time will tell if Dallas will regret re-signing Irving or not, and they made the right move by keeping him as they gave up considerable assets in the trade for him at the trade deadline last season.
