The Dallas Mavericks have been plagued by injuries this season, with many of their key players missing significant time.

Dante Exum, Grant Williams, Dereck Lively II, Kyrie Irving, Maxi Kleber, and Josh Green have all missed time this season, and the injury bug returned on Wednesday night as both Williams and Lively II sprained their ankles.

Dallas is finding a way to win games despite this, but getting healthy will be crucial for the Mavs as they inch towards the trade deadline and the back half of the season.

Rumors: Dallas Mavericks' trade interest in Pascal Siakam gets revealing update

It's clear that the Mavs want to upgrade at the power forward position, and they have been in trade rumors for Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam.

Siakam would be a massive pickup for Dallas, and we recently got a massive update in regards to Dallas' pursuit of Siakam.

Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports reported that the Mavericks "don’t appear as (a) viable destination," for Siakam.

This is a bit of a stab in the heart for some Mavs fans, as many people have been supportive of the Mavs making a move for him. There have been plenty of hypothetical trades all across the internet that show potential packages that the Mavs would use to acquire Siakam, but it seems like other teams across the league have more assets to make a move than Dallas.

A prime piece that the Raptors would likely want in a trade with Dallas is Josh Green due to his youth, potential, and team-friendly contract, but it was reported that the Mavs have already been turning down several trade offers for him.

The Mavs could shock everyone and make a move for Siakam, but it looks like the Raptors could be sending him elsewhere as he is "expected" to be traded. Dallas trading for him could thrust them into the tier of being NBA Finals contenders, but such a move would also have to retain their depth.

This is a hard tightrope to walk, but Nico Harrison could have a move up his sleeve that would set the NBA world on fire.

For all the latest on the Dallas Mavericks and their potential pursuit of Pascal Siakam, stay tuned.
